How do I add a playlist?

Start with the e-mail your provider sent you. Give the playlist a name first (it’s required), then open the card that matches what you got: Xtream Codes or M3U link. Fill in the fields and tap Add playlist. Waka checks it works before saving it.

Got a playlist file instead? Open the M3U link card and tap Import a file. To add another playlist later, go to Settings › Playlists.

Xtream Codes or M3U: which one do I use?

Use what your provider gave you.

• Xtream Codes is a server URL, a username and a password. It gives you the most: categories, posters, film and series details, the TV guide and catch-up.

• M3U is a single link (or a file) that lists channels and videos. The TV guide works when the playlist names a guide link or you add one; catch-up isn’t available.

If your M3U link is really an Xtream link (it contains get.php with a username and password), Waka spots it and uses the Xtream login for you.

What do I get for free, and what does Waka Blaze add?

Free gets you one playlist and the full player: live TV, the TV guide, catch-up, reminders, films, series, the Hot list, Keep watching and the kids lock, with ads.

Waka Blaze adds as many playlists as you like, new crates and no ads anywhere. Already subscribed on another device? Tap Restore purchases in Settings.

How do I switch between playlists?

Tap Switch next to the playlist name on Home, or go to Settings › Playlists and tap the one you want. It becomes the active playlist right away.

Each playlist keeps its own Hot list, crates, Keep watching, recent channels, reminders and kids-lock rules, so switching never mixes them up.

What is the Hot list?

Your favourites. Tap the flame on a channel, film, series or episode to add it to Hot. Open the list with the flame at the top of the screen and filter it by kind.

Removed something by mistake? Tap Undo and it goes back where it was.

What are crates?

Crates are your own named lists, each with a colour, like “Sunday films” or “Cartoons”. A crate can take any kind of item or just one kind. Find them on Home under Your crates.

Making a new crate is part of Waka Blaze. Crates you already have stay usable either way, and you can rename, recolour or delete them at any time.

How does Keep watching work?

Stop a film or an episode and Waka remembers where. It shows up under Keep watching, and Resume picks up from that point. Once you’ve watched about 95%, it counts as finished and leaves the list.

To tidy up, remove an item from Keep watching (Undo is there if you change your mind), or use Clear watch history in Settings for the active playlist.

How do I set up the kids lock?

Go to Settings › Kids lock and choose a 4-digit PIN. Then lock whole sections (Live, Movies, Series), single categories or single channels. Rules belong to each playlist.

Locked items ask for the PIN. Once you enter it, the playlist stays open until you tap Lock again or restart the app. After 5 wrong tries, the keypad waits 30 seconds.

I forgot my kids-lock PIN. What now?

Honest answer: it can’t be recovered. Waka keeps only a scrambled hash of the PIN on your device, so neither the app nor our support can read it or reset it.

The only way out is to delete Waka and install it again. That also removes your playlists, Hot list, crates, Keep watching and settings, so keep your provider’s e-mail at hand to add your playlists back. Waka Blaze comes back with Restore purchases.

The stream buffers or stops. What can I do?

Waka reconnects by itself when a stream drops, up to three times. If it still struggles:

• try another channel: if that one plays, the problem is on the provider’s side for that channel;

• move closer to your router, or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data;

• check your connection limit: for Xtream playlists, Settings › Playlists shows active and maximum connections, and other devices watching at the same time can use them up;

• turn a VPN off, or on, and try again;

• restart your router, then tap Retry in the player.

Still no luck? Your provider is the one who can check the stream.

Why are some channels, films or series missing?

Waka shows exactly what your provider sends: it never adds or removes anything. If a channel, a category, a film or a whole section is missing, it isn’t in your playlist. Many M3U playlists only list channels, for example.

If your provider just added something, close and reopen Waka to load the latest list. For anything else, ask your provider.

Why is the TV guide empty or wrong?

• Xtream Codes: the guide comes from your provider. If it’s empty, the provider has no guide for those channels.

• M3U: the guide needs a guide link (XMLTV). Some playlists include one; if yours doesn’t, add one in Settings › Playlists, in the playlist’s TV guide options. The guide screen also offers Add a guide link when none is set.

• Times off by an hour or more? Set the guide time shift in the same options, from −12 h to +12 h in 30-minute steps.

After a change, tap Refresh guide.

What is catch-up, and why don’t all channels have it?

Catch-up lets you play programmes that already aired, straight from the TV guide or from the Today list in the player. Channels that have it show the orange catch-up mark.

It works only on Xtream Codes channels where your provider keeps recordings, and only as many days back as the provider allows. M3U playlists don’t have catch-up.

My reminder didn’t go off. Why?

Reminders are notifications from your device, about 5 minutes before the programme starts. Waka asks for permission the first time you tap Remind me. If you said no, turn notifications on in your device settings under Waka IPTV › Notifications, then set the reminder again.

Also check that a Focus mode isn’t silencing them, and that the guide times are right (see the guide time shift). Reminders are listed in Settings › Reminders and from the bell in the guide; removing a playlist cancels its reminders.
